At National Tire Wholesale we offer a whole range of services, from oil changes to wheel alignments and much more! Here are a few reasons why you should stop by National Tire Wholesale to get an oil change and why it is important to get your wheels aligned!

Regular oil changes are the lifeblood to your vehicle:

Oil is the lifeblood of your vehicle. It keeps the many components of the engine working efficiently, and it helps reduce the accumulation of varnish and carbon from collecting on the engine. As you're aware, the engine can get very hot from the thousands of small explosions taking place every minute; oil helps pull the heat away from the combustion chamber essentially preventing the engine from blowing up.
As oil collects heat, varnish and carbons during the course of protecting and keeping the engine running smoothly, it eventually becomes less like liquid and more like sludge. No matter how good the oil is, eventually it degrades as the additives get used up. That's when you should have your oil changed.
How often and what kind of oil should be used?
Picture
It will depend on the type of oil you choose to use, what kind of car, and how often you drive. This is where your owner's manual will come in handy. The old adage suggests every 3 months or 3,000 miles. The amount of mileage you drive is more important than the amount of time. You may go on a road trip and burn through a few thousand miles in a few weeks, or it may take five months before you reach the recommended mileage. Pay attention to the odometer and how you've been driving your vehicle. Driving in extreme weather or towing a lot of weight behind your car will affect your oil too.
If you don't think you have the time or money to get your oil changed and you choose to wait, eventually the oil will get worse and worse, becoming more like sludge and clog your engine. Engines are expensive to clean, and replacing a worn-out piston is not an auto repair bill you want to receive. Bottom line: It's worth the time and minimal cost of maintenance.

Wheel Alignment Explained:

Keep you and and your car safe on the road with a proper wheel alignment.
What is a wheel alignment?
A wheel alignment is simply adjusting your wheels to make sure they are square with the road and parallel to one another. A trained technician will measure and make adjustments to the angles and suspension components to make sure your car or truck’s tires are meeting the road evenly. This will also ensure that your car moves straight down the road without pulling to either side.

What are the warning signs that I might need an alignment?
  • Your vehicle pulls to the right or left while you are driving straight
  • Your steering wheel is not straight while you are driving straight on a level road
  • There is a vibration in the steering wheel or through your seat that progressively gets worse as you increase speed
  • Your tires are wearing unevenly or squeal on turns
  • Your steering feels loose or unstable
What causes a vehicle to go out of alignment?
Misalignment conditions occur when the suspension and steering system are not operating at the right angles. The most common cause of this is spring sag and suspension wear on older vehicles. You can also throw your alignment off balance when you hit a pot hole, curb or get into any kind of minor or major collision.

Why should I get a wheel alignment?
Misalignment can damage and wear your tires and parts.

A wheel alignment is a small price to invest in auto maintenance. This is especially true in comparison to new tires or replacement work on your steering and suspension. Incorrect alignment settings may result in the following:
  • Uneven and rapid tread wear
  • Decreased in fuel efficiency
  • Difficult steering
  • Poor traction
  • Unnecessary strain and wear to your vehicle’s steering, suspension, and drive train
Many automotive warranties require you to produce proof that you have had your wheels aligned regularly, or the manufacturer will not honor them. Virtually all tire warranties are void if the owner neglects to get and document regular wheel alignments.

It is a good idea to get your alignment checked when you have new tires installed, steering or suspension components replaced, or when you’re noticing uneven or unusual tread wear on your tires. Anytime your vehicle has encountered noticeable impacts from road hazards or collisions, you should have your wheel alignment checked.
Keep your tires in great shape by bringing your car or truck to National Tire Wholesale. Our trained technicians are skilled in a wide range of tire services. You can get your tires rotated, repaired, replaced, and more. Your vehicle is a large investment, and it’s worth the proper care.
